Derek Boshier A Survey of Work

Gallery 360
30 September - 30 October 2013

Derek Boshier first came to prominence with his paintings as a student at the Royal College of Art in London in the early 1960s, with fellow students David Hockney, Allen Jones, R.B. Kitaj, and others in the British Pop Art movement. Subsequently he has used other media, including drawing, printmaking, film, books, three dimensional objects, installations, and photography among them. His graphic design with popular music groups such as The Clash and David Bowie has brought his work to a wider audience. This exhibition features his most recent series of paintings with a forty-year selection of other work across various mediums.

Opening Reception: September 30, 4-6pm.

After the reception, the artist will have a conversation with curator William Kaizen, Assistant Professor of Art History and Media Studies in the Department of Art and Design. As part of the conversation, several of Mr. Boshier's films will be screened. The exhibition will run through October 30th.
