British photographer Jason Larkin will be leading a talk at The Frontline Club ahead of his upcoming exhibition with Flowers Gallery. The event will discuss the artist's latest body of work entitled Tales from the City of Gold, which is the result of him living in Johannesburg for two years. The city was founded in 1886 following the discovery of an enormous reef of gold, which transformed the area into a mining mecca. The environmental and social impact of this activity is still being felt in modern Johannesburg today. Larkin has observed life alongside the 'mine dumps' left behind and the coexistence between past and present at these sites.
