The Photobook: A History Volume III
Following on from the success of volumes I and II of The Photobook: A History, Phaidon has published Volume III, bringing the study fully up to date. The photobook is a significant means of displaying and communicating a photographer's work to a mass audience, however its history and importance was not fully celebrated prior to these publications. Co-edited by Martin Parr and Gerry Badger, the latest volume explores the globalization of photographic culture, the personalisation of photobooks and the impact of the internet and social media on the medium, among other things. Divided into nine thematic chapters, Volume III includes images from over 200 books and introductory texts 'highlighting the dominant political and artistic influences on the photobook'. We are delighted that Michael Wolf, influential German photographer and exhibitor at Flowers Galleries, is featured within the publication, which is now available to purchase.
