Simon Roberts Workshop in Venetian Islands
Photographic artist Simon Roberts, represented by Flowers Gallery, is set to lead a unique workshop in the Venetian islands Friday 4th - Sunday 6th July. Organised in conjunction with Cultural Association HAT Studio and online magazine Landscape Stories, the workshop aims to provide participants with the conceptual and methodological tools necessary for the creation of a photographic project. The course will cover planning, development of a narrative and careful editing, and the group will enjoy constant interaction with their tutor throughout the three days. Participants can choose to explore a variety of themes Venice has to offer, including the lagoon eco system, the military defensive works, the unique union of landscape and city or the public identity and social relations of this unusual environment. The workshop will take place in the beautiful Basilica of Saints John and Paul, a stunning example of Venetian Gothic architecture and the largest church in the city after the Basilica of San Marco. A selection of images by each individual member will be published in Landscape Stories following completion of the workshop. Submit your application by 30th April for the opportunity to take part.
