Panel Discussion - Art + Business: Navigating the New Landscape
In contemporary society, sustaining a strong photographic practice requires more than just creativity. Artists are expected to utilise marketing, branding and social media tools, and have a confident understanding of dealer-artist relationships, copyright and contract law. To shed light on these tasks, the Parsons Institute for Intellectual Property (PiiP) has brought together a panel of experienced professionals for an exciting discussion. Taking place on Tuesday 8th April 6-8pm at the Theresa Lang Community and Student Center, Arnhold Hall, the event will explore the new landscape of photography, using social platforms to increase your audience and how traditional art world relationships have evolved in recent years.
Moderated by Michelle Bogre, associate professor of Photography at Parsons, lawyer, documentary photographer and author, the panel members include:
Mona Kuhn, contemporary artist
Fabrice Nadjari, entrepreneur and photographer
Andrea Blanch, editor-in-chief of Musee Magazine
Michael Foley, gallery owner
Anna Walker Skillman, gallery director and curator
