The Courtauld Gallery Summer Showcase
Bruegel to Freud: Prints from The Courtauld Gallery
19 June to 21 September 2014
The Courtauld Gallery houses one of the most significant collections of works on paper in Britain, with approximately 7,000 drawings and watercolours and 20,000 prints ranging from the Renaissance to the 21st century. The Gallery's second Summer Showcase provides visitors with an introduction to these prints, the largest but least known part of the Gallery's collection. A selection of thirty works spanning more than 500 years will be on display, celebrating a variety of printmaking techniques. The exhibition includes works by Mantegna, Bruegel, Canaletto, Picasso, Matisse and Freud.
