John Keane to appear on BBC Radio 3 Private Passions

We are pleased to announce that Flowers artist John Keane has been selected to appear on the BBC Radio 3 programme 'Private Passions' as part of the 'Music in the Great War' season. Presented by Michael Berkely, the programme invites diverse guests to discuss their musical loves and hates, and the effect that music has had on their lives. The show has welcomed prestigious visitors such as the Archbishop of Canterbury and Stephen Fry, and is always recorded in the presenter's home.

John Keane was appointed the official war artist during the first Gulf War, a job which resulted in a series of paintings now on display in the Imperial War Museum. During the interview, John will talk to Michael about how the role of the war artist has changed since the First World War, and what they can communicate that we cannot see in a photograph. John's music choices include Bach, Beethoven and Britten.

The programme will air on Sunday 29th June at 12 noon.
