Edward Burtynsky joins judging panel for Prix Pictet 2015

Four new jurors have been selected to join the judging panel for the prestigious Prix Pictet Award. They include environmental photographer and 2009 TED Prize laureate Edward Burtynsky, Nili Goren, Photography Curator of the Tel Aviv Museum, Emmanuelle de L'Ecotais, Curator of Photography at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and Phillipe Bertherat, former Partner of the Pictet Group and Chairman of the MAMCO Foundation.

The role of the jury is to review the work of all nominated photographers and to present a shortlist of artists whose work they feel best corresponds to the chosen theme, after which they will select one photographer as the overall winner.

Announcing the Jury, Stephen Barber, Chair of the Prix Pictet, said: "We are delighted that such distinguished experts from around the world have agreed to come together for the task of selecting the next Prix Pictet winner. Now more than ever, we hope that the Prix Pictet will help to illuminate the critical debate about a sustainable future that implicates us all."

The theme for the 2015 prize is Disorder. The shortlist will be announced in July 2015 and exhibited in France.
