Perfumer Timothy Han has collaborated with Nicola Hicks to accompany his latest Edition scent Heart of Darkness inspired by the 1899 novella of the same name by Joseph Conrad. The novella follows the main character, Charles Marlow, on his journey up the Congo River. Hicks uses both existing and new work to create a series of images which explore the notion of colonialism and the ravages of the ivory trade.
 
Using all natural ingredients and sustainably handcrafted, Heart of Darkness incorporates watery green floral notes, dark woods and damp moss, along with strong hints of amber and burning coal.

A portion of the perfume sales will be donated to grassroots communities and elephant conservation projects in the Congo.
