Overview
New, brilliant and poignant works by the self-confessed Surrealist Glen Baxter will be exhibited at Flowers Cork Street this June. It was at art school, through the work of Andr̩ Breton that Baxter first discovered Surrealism, which became his passion in life, manifested in his art. Those who have come to know his work via Vanity Fair, Vogue, Le Monde, The Independent on Sunday and The New Yorker will welcome the return of his sharp humour.
With drawings reminiscent of 1930's adventure illustrations. A Soul in Torment Parts I and II focuses solely on applying his wit to the world of art. Works by Gormley, Davenport and Mondrian are the subject of surrealist policemen and opinionated cowboys.
