Overview
A solo exhibition of new works by British artist Ishbel Myerscough draws together self-portraits and paintings of family and friends to explore an intimate journey of love and loss. Myerscough is recognised for her meticulously observed and highly detailed portrayal of her subjects, which over the past three decades have included herself, her close friend and fellow artist Chantal Joffe, and their families.
In Grief, Longing, and Love, Myerscough combines closely cropped images of the ordinary moments of domestic life (children sleeping, her son’s first black eye) with the rawness of her own grief, evoking the complex nature of human experience.
