As this show is on around Christmastime, I wanted to prepare paintings that remind me of the spirits of the season. I felt cosy by looking at the two paintings because of their colours and textures just like touching soft and warm winter fabrics. I named the paintings 'Long Night Moon', the name that was given to the full moon of December by Native Americans. The name makes me ponder about the dark winter sky with stars dotted around and about the time that seems to pass more slowly during winter nights.
