Rory Menage (b 1988) is interested in the history of sculpture. His work has been shown at The Henry Moore Institute Leeds, The Aesthetica Short Film Festival, The Saatchi Gallery, Broadway Gallery Letchworth, Galerie Lisa Kandlhofer, and Villa Lena, Italy. He was one of the founding artists in residence in Toma House, Nara, Japan this year.
'Rectinlinear Relief Study I' is a response to the carpet pages of the early Gospels, with an emphasis on the grid formation, verticality and horizontality. Both examine the idea of sculpture as image.
