Rory Menage (b 1988) is interested in the history of sculpture. His work has been shown at The Henry Moore Institute Leeds, The Aesthetica Short Film Festival, The Saatchi Gallery, Broadway Gallery Letchworth, Galerie Lisa Kandlhofer, and Villa Lena, Italy. He was one of the founding artists in residence in Toma House, Nara, Japan this year.
'Loop I' is a singular line carved in alabaster in high relief, looping round to meet itself. It is a playful take on the famous interlace ornament found in early 7th century manuscripts such as the Book of Durrow and the Lindisfarne Gospels.
