Shen Wei Visitors, 2018-2020
Shen Wei's Scholar Rock works are a sculptural continuation of Invisible Atlas, a series inspired by the artist's fascination with energy. Consisting of selected Manhattan schist rock, handmade polymer clay objects and found wooden base, both of Wei's pieces in this exhibition contract the power of earthly energy and personal desire. Visitors is a playful interpretation of a group gathering towards a peak.
