Etching: The Infernal Method Featuring Freya Payne

Royal Academy of Arts
15 September 2017 - 18 February 2018

The Royal Academy presents Etching: The Infernal Method, an exhibition curated by Norman Ackroyd RA and featuring works by Flowers artist Freya Payne.

As with the Academy’s annual Summer Exhibition, the Art Sales programme gives invited artists the opportunity to display work alongside those who are established and renowned in their respective fields. Many of the participating artists have been supported by Ackroyd in making a print at his Bermondsey studio. They include a diverse range of practitioners including those from the worlds of architecture and fashion, as well as a student who has just completed his A Levels. Says Ackroyd of his selected group “I just like what they do, and I’m keen to support the next generation of artists”.

The exhibition includes a number of new prints and all works are available for sale. Proceeds from the sales go towards ensuring that the non-profit-making areas of the Academy, including our education programme, library and the RA Schools, continue to flourish.
