Mona Kuhn Screening and Conversation

Fotografiska Museum, New York
21 April 2022

Begins at 7pm

I’m most comfortable representing the nude as minimal and timeless. I like to cherish the body as a source of inspiration, as a platform for metaphors, for intimacy and complexities of human nature. It is my way of investigating the deepest questions about life. – Mona Kuhn

On the occasion of the group exhibition NUDE at Fotografiska New York, photographer Mona Kuhn and curator Silvia Perea will present the visual fiction that Mona staged at the Schindler house, in West Hollywood, California. The work comprises a series of photos staged in the context of the architecture.

Mona Kuhn’s body of work has elevated the understanding of the nude as a symbol of human equity and solidarity. The series is also the subject of a book titled Kings Road, and an eponymous exhibition on view at the AD&A Museum at University of California, Santa Barbara. During the event, Kuhn will discuss her process in creating the Kings Road series and her intent to illuminate a new understanding of the famous Schindler house.

A book signing will follow the event.
